Our methodology for couples counseling is heavily influenced by Gottman and Imago. Gottman is one of the nation’s leading marriage researchers and educators who, it has been said, has the spirit of a scientist and the soul of a romantic.
Bariatric Counseling
Bariatric surgery is a life-altering decision that should not be made lightly. The hospital will prepare you for the physical demands of surgery, but that is just one component. We provide pre-surgical evaluations as well as pre and post-surgical counseling.
Modalities

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Our thoughts become our beliefs and, as such, significantly impact what we manifest in our lives. CBT is an evidence-based, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment approach designed to change maladaptive thoughts and behaviors in order to generate more appropriate feelings and outcomes.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment designed to help clients reprocess memories by changing the neural pathways where those memories are stored in the brain. EMDR is most often thought of as a treatment for PTSD, but has been found effective for many other issues as well.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-focused therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
Insurance
Currently accepting most major insurance carriers (see comprehensive list below). If we don't take your particular insurance or we are considered “out-of-network” with your plan, we can provide you with a "superbill" that will enable you to file with your insurance for reimbursement yourself. It is recommended that you check with your carrier to determine your reimbursement rates, as they are often less than your out-of-pocket costs.

Guest Author at Elementary Schools
Schedule Tammy to come in to read one of her books in the "Thought Giggie" series to your elementary-age students, then answer any questions they may have. There will be an opportunity for students/parents to purchase the book(s) and plushie in advance of the visit. Tammy signs every book purchased from an elementary school event.
